Booking An AppointmentChiropracticYour state of health is important to us. For this reason, we believe that it is vital to have your nervous system as healthy as possible by keeping the spine maintained and problem free through regular chiropractic visits. On your first visit, your Doctor of Chiropractic will conduct a thorough comprehensive physical examination of your clinical health condition. This includes a detailed health history, physical examination including orthopaedic, neurologic and systems review as well as special testing if the clinician feels necessary. This may involve referral to a medical specialist or further investigation via radiology, CAT Scan or MRI. If prior x-rays were done, it is preferable to bring the films on the first visit. After reviewing all the pertinent clinical information, the Doctor of Chiropractic will arrive at a working diagnosis and a plan of management in order to correct the underlying neuromusculoskeletal problem to keep the spine and body as healthy as possible. This involves a series of regular chiropractic visits to restore healthy nerve transmission so that the body can innately express and heal itself. The length and duration of visits are determined by several factors including chronicity and severity of the problem, age and overall health. Usually more frequent visits are required at the beginning of treatment in order to reduce symptoms. Once the spine is stabilized, the next stage of treatment involves a corrective rehabilitation program to the injured and weakened muscles and soft tissues so that the spine can function at its’ optimum and remain pain free. This stage of treatment addresses lifestyle change such as nutritional support and dietary revision, corrective and strengthening exercises, aerobic and non-aerobic rehabilitative activities and stress management. Other practitioners with specialities in these areas are involved in a team approach to ensure that the patient receives optimal care. These specialists may include Doctors of Natural Medicine, massage therapists, kinesiologists/physiotherapists, Medical Doctors, sports physicians, etc. depending on the person’s individual need. The last stage in the treatment plan involves maintenance care or periodic check-ups to keep the spine healthy and problem-free. Just like regular visits to your dentist or optometrist can identify and eliminate potential health problems, so can regular scheduled visits in your chiropractic care program. Natural Medicine
Your present state of health arises from many factors including your dietary habits, past and present lifestyle, family background etc. In your first consultation, these and other factors, as well as your particular concerns, are normally reviewed. Recommendations arising from an individualized consultation may include changes in your nutritional and lifestyle pattern along with supportive nutritional supplementation and/or phytotherapeutic (herbal)/homeopathic treatment protocols, acupuncture, compresses, leg wraps, lymphatic tissue work, soft tissue work, chiropractic/osteopathic treatment(s), counselling, personal exercise protocols of various types, and much more. A follow-up appointment is normally arranged from one to three weeks after your first visit. This provides an opportunity to review your progress, answer your questions and make additional recommendations should this be necessary. Further appointments are scheduled as required. To enhance your progress, it is recommended that you continue with a suggested treatment protocol which may include supplementation along with other forms of treatment until individual optimal healing is achieved. For these reasons we generally utilize high quality, professional level supplements, proven through research, which offer enhanced bio-availability. We provide these types of formulations exclusively to our patients. Since your requirements will likely change as your treatment progresses, it is important that your progress be monitored. Follow-up consultations are suggested as required. It is advantageous to the patient to follow recommendations in order to achieve optimal healing and well being.
